This week we are on the lookout for ghost signs of Gloucester, traces of advertising of yesteryear. As industry boomed in the 19th and early 20th centuries so too did advertising and sign written adverts were painted onto the walls of buildings to promote trade. Many such ghost signs have stood the test of time, albeit with their wonderful scripts often weathered, faded and occasionally further obscured by new developments
